Join Volta + RBC for the second annual Ecosystem Impact Awards Sept. 16 where we’ll celebrate the movers + shakers of the startup ecosystem.

About this Event

Volta, in partnership with RBC, is hosting the second annual Ecosystem Impact Awards on September 16 virtually. These awards recognize various change makers and supporters who are rapidly transforming the startup ecosystem in Atlantic Canada.

The six award categories include: CatalystCorporate SupporterDisruptor, Community Leader Positive Impact – Organization, and Positive Impact – Individual.

Recognizing an organization that has helped create cohesion and growth in the Atlantic Canadian startup ecosystem. This can be measured by creating alignment between organizations, helping with the growth of the startup community, removing barriers for the success of startups, etc.

Corporate Supporter:

Recognizing a corporate partner who has been a gracious supporter of the tech startup community in Atlantic Canada and who is dedicated to supporting the development of the rapidly growing technology sector by donating their time, resources and mentorship.

Disruptor Award:

Recognizing an up-and-coming business in Atlantic Canada that has experienced significant entrepreneurial success over the past year. Success can be measured in a number of ways, including; innovative technology, solving a technological need, capturing a new sector or market with, disruption of a service or market segment, applications of product or service and traction in, or ability to obtain traction in the international marketplace.

Community Leader:

Recognizing the company who has directly impacted the growth and development of the entrepreneurial community in Atlantic Canada as well as played a large part in giving back to the community at large.  This can be measured by time spent, mentorship and peer to peer.

Positive Impact – Organization:

Recognizing a company or organization that has developed and implemented solutions that have positively impacted social, cultural and/or environmental issues in the community at large.

Positive Impact – Individual:

Recognizing a founder or individual that has developed and implemented solutions that have positively impacted social, cultural and/or environmental issues in the community at large.
