Halifax Smart Cities Community Event
March 30, 2021 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm ADT
ICTC invites all Halifax Municipality Residents to a public virtual forum to discuss the notion of a smart Halifax.
On March 30th, 2021, the Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC) will be holding a public virtual forum (over ZOOM) to openly discuss the notion of a smart Halifax. We want to hear from you, HRM residents!
What is a “smart city?” Talk of smart cities may be in fashion these days but what does it actually mean for our urban spaces and their inhabitants? What are key technologies driving this change, and how will “smart” developments affect you as a Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) resident? What is already taking place, and what should happen to ensure that future cities are not only smart but effective, inclusive and accessible?
Please join us on March 30th, from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm, to discuss these important questions, engage with others, and offer your thoughts and suggestions on what your ideal future urban space should look like.
This event is open to all HRM residents eager to share their insight, experiences, and engage with one another on this important topic.
This digital forum will provide participants with:
- A brief update on the state of smart cities in Canada/HRM
- Insights into the technology of tomorrow and its potential applications for a smart Halifax
- Engagement with fellow HRM residents on the topic of smart city development
- Practical knowledge to carry on to future discussions
*Following this event, ICTC will publish an overview article allowing all participants to share insights from this virtual forum.Register
