Director of Content

The Director of Content will lead the organization’s vision for creating content that shapes culture across both Foundation content and client content. The Director will work closely with teams in the creation of excellent content marketing strategies, recommendations, and plans.

The Director will also be responsible for building relationships with potential and existing clients of Foundation and turning those relationships into realized business opportunities.

What the successful candidate will be doing:

  • Directing and delivering high-quality content recommendations from strategy to execution that deliver content excellence by reaching the target audiences and achieving our B2B client KPIs.
  • Directing content in all formats; long-form, short-form, audio, graphic, and video.
  • Directing the content team as they lead client engagements and form trusted client relationships.
  • Overseeing the implementation of SEO, content marketing, social media, and digital strategies.
  • Improve the overall client experience through our content services by directing the team in creating impactful content aimed to meet the pain points of our client’s target audience.
  • Elevating the Foundation brand by being active on social media and through content development.
  • Implement and develop training material that will elevate the team skills surrounding content.
  • Create and improve content team processes to continue improving the quality of work.
  • Review important content deliverables before presenting them to clients to ensure excellence.
  • Attend, deliver and coach the team surrounding client presentations associated with content.
  • Continue to create and direct new innovative strategic solutions on behalf of our client brands.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams and partners to build and execute content recommendations that will ultimately be brought to market across multiple channels.
  • Responsible for the allocation of work among the content team and workflow of all content projects, on time and within budget. As part of this, you will proactively manage staffing, onboarding, training, recruitment, development, 1:1s, and professional development team members within the content department.
  • Prepare weekly leadership reporting on content delivery status, quality or timeline risk, team development, and overall department performance improvement recommendations.
  • Contribute to new business where necessary.

What skills and experience the successful candidate will need:

  • Minimum of 7 years experience in a related position (Journalism, Marketing, Communication)
  • Minimum of 5 years marketing agency experience/content marketing editing experience
  • Minimum of 2 years B2B SaaS experience
  • Proven process and training material development
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to instill confidence in clients and across internal teams
  • Must be an excellent verbal and written communicator
  • Passion for content and familiarity with what goes into a great content strategy
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor team members
  • Must be a self-starter and nimble multi-tasker, able to handle large, complex projects
  • Excellent level of English both written and verbal
  • Proven track record/portfolio of projects from concept to completion

  • We’re a remote team, so you must be well organized, can manage your schedule, and are a fan of asynchronous communication

$100, 000 to $120,000 CAD — dependent upon the skill level of the successful candidate
