The Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) Office manages/oversees the operation of all of Dalhousie’s 54 accredited College of Family Physicians (CFPC) and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) training programs, as well as several unaccredited fellowship training programs. The office supports approximately 650 PGME trainees (residents/fellows) located at distributed sites throughout Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. As a MedIT Application Development Team member, reporting to the Director of the PGME Office and the IT Architect, MedIT, the incumbent will design software solutions that meet the functional and technical requirements of solutions for the PGME Office.
- Consult with PGME Office to understand PGME business processes and data and reporting needs, and obtain functional requirements. Seek advice and consideration from MedIT team members as required.
- Design and develop software solutions, ensuring quality assurance standards are met, and developed software has been through all required phases prior to launch, including functional and user testing and peer review.
- Analyze business need requirements, research issues and bugs as needed, and identify innovative and effective technical solutions leveraging existing systems (DalMedix, Microsoft 365, etc.) and implement them to meet
Coordinate projects, liaise with stakeholders, ensure that user requirements are addressed, and target deadlines are met throughout project development and implementation.
Communicate system changes to affected users, answer questions, provide user walkthroughs and appropriate system documentation.
The successful applicant will primarily work remotely, with occasional presence in-person on-campus to meet client needs and operation requirements.
