Digital Nova Scotia is the provincial industry association for the tech sector. Striving to connect the digital community, promote its successes and lead skill development to help the sector grow, evolve, and thrive.
As a membership-driven organization, Digital Nova Scotia supports the sector and everyone in it, with over 150 members ranging from startups and SME’s to large multinational corporations, universities and colleges, government, and non-profits. As a connector and information hub, DNS is an active voice within the community and designs programs, initiatives, and special projects to support the rapid evolution of the sector and address industry challenges.
With a mission to foster the growth of the digital economy in Nova Scotia, Digital Nova Scotia brings the community together. The non-profit contributes to local, national and international conversations, reaches and engages communities across the province, and is committed to developing and sustaining collaborative partnerships across all sectors and demographics.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO of Digital Nova Scotia is responsible for developing and executing the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization. The specific areas of focus will be promotion, capacity building, collaboration and advocacy within the province’s technology sector. The CEO will lead a dynamic team by providing strong organizational leadership that motivates, coaches and supports the collective growth to further the mandate of the organization.
The successful candidate is a proven leader that will be directly engaged in supporting the digital economy in Nova Scotia, while developing and fostering relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The CEO will lead the overall planning, organizing and direction of the operations and programs through working closely with stakeholders and funding partners. With strong business acumen and communication skills, they will promote the entrepreneurial spirit of the digital economy while respecting confidentiality.
The successful candidate will have a Business degree or related technical degree with at least 10 years of leadership experience with a portion of that in a not-for-profit setting. They will have knowledge of the Nova Scotia Digital Sector and tech sectors across the region in general with a proven track record of building funding relationships across a broad audience. Experience working with governments of all levels is a key asset.
