Canadian Women in Communications and Technology’s (WCT) is launching its first-ever Nova Scotia Chapter and we want you to be a part of it! WCT is a national organization dedicated to the advancement of women through a coast-to-coast network of professionals and companies in communications and technology.
WCT aims to be a catalyst for advancing women’s leadership in the technology, media and telecommunications sectors by facilitating women’s career advancement through mentorship, skills and leadership training, networking, and recognition.
Nova Scotia-based women leaders and a number of stakeholder organizations have come together to form WCT’s first Nova Scotia Chapter. We believe that women in Nova Scotia should have the opportunity to benefit from a national network of mentors and like-minded peers, which inspired us to launch a Nova Scotia Chapter.
The Nova Scotia Chapter will promote WCT national programs, develop a Regional Mentorship Circle to support regional connections, and will act as a hub to promote other Nova Scotia focused networking events for #womenintech.
We are currently calling for an expression of interest from women in our region to participate in a Regional Mentorship Circle in 2018. If you’re interested in either being a mentor or being mentored as part of a structured, in-person program, or simply interested in participating on a WCT Nova Scotia Committee to assist in coordinating this initiative, please let us know!
